What Is Megalis

Megalis, a popular generic version of tadalafil, belongs to the class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. Megalis 20, manufactured by Macleods Pharmaceuticals in India, contains the same active ingredient as the brand-name medication Cialis, with identical molecular structure and pharmacological effects.

Megalis Mechanism of Action

Megalis active ingredient tadalafil selectively inhibits phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), an enzyme that breaks down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the corpus cavernosum of the penis. When sexual stimulation occurs, nitric oxide is released into the erectile tissue and activate the enzyme guanylate cyclase. This enzyme increases levels of cGMP, which relaxes smooth muscles and increases blood flow to specific areas of the penis. By blocking PDE5, megalis 20mg allows cGMP to accumulate and persist longer, maintains the relaxation of smooth muscle in the penis and sustains increased blood flow. Megalis 10 can begin working within 30 minutes and maintain effectiveness for up to 36 hours.

Megalis Dosage

Megalis comes in megalis 10 and megalis 20 mg. The starting dose is megalis 10 mg taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. Dosage can be adjusted to megalis 20 mg if the 10 mg dose proves insufficient, or reduced to megalis 2.5 mg for daily use.

For patients with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction who anticipate frequent sexual activity (twice weekly or more), a daily regimen of megalis 2.5 mg or 5 mg may be recommended.

The maximum recommended frequency is once daily, and the maximum recommended dose is 20 mg per 24-hour period. It’s crucial to adhere to prescribed dosing schedules and never double dose to make up for a missed one. For elderly patients (?65 years) and those with renal impairment, dosage adjustments may be necessary.

How To Take Megalis

It is recommended to take Megalis approximately 30-60 minutes before sexual activity, with or without food, as meals generally have minimal impact on its absorption rate and effectiveness. Extremely high-fat meals may slightly delay absorption. Grapefruit juice and grapefruit products should be avoided, as they can increase blood levels of the medication by interfering with the enzymes that metabolize it, potentially leads to increased side effects.

Alcohol consumption should be limited when taking megalis vs viagra or other medications in this class, as drinking can lower blood pressure and increase the chances of side effects like dizziness, headaches, or increased heart rate.

Apcalis
Dear User, the doctor who will prescribe you apcalis should confirm that there is no intolerance to taking tadalafil. Otherwise, there is an observation to be made that the tablets of Apcalis contain lactose, albeit in minimal amounts used to hold the pill together; lactose is on the list of excipients of the drug (the auxiliary substances that do not have any medicinal effect but are added to the medication’s compositioin to give the drug its form, color, shape, etc.)
